Black Swan

So, my best friend Maddie and I went to a halloween party tonight. It was pretty fun! We got to hang with some of our friends for a bit. Maddie decided to dress up as a sexy cop, and I went for black swan at the last minute! I made my own costume, which was fairly simple. Well, I wouldn't say I hand made it, but I made it from my and Maddie's clothes! The body suit is from American Apparel, the tutu is Maddie's, and the ballerina slippers are mine. The makeup was pretty easy to do, surprisingly! I slapped on some black eye shadow all over my eye with metallic whiteish eyeliner streaks, and a very dark purple lipstick. I wish I could wear this makeup every single day. Nobody had a camera at the party, so we had to use an iPhone to take these pictures! But, I still think they're pretty good quality pictures (atleast for an iPhone.) Anyway, these last few halloweens haven't been that exciting, but dressing up as Black Swan made it fun! :)....except for taking off the makeup. That part sucked.

I'm Having a Shoe-Gasm!

Lately, I've been having a sick obsession with shoes. If only I could actually afford some of these bad boys. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear shoes that consist of metallics, feathers, ankle cuffs, and capes?! Yes, that is a cape on that silver Alexander Wang shoe (last picture). How freakin cool?! I think shoes are magic in a sort of way. You can take a simple outfit, and make it fantastic with an amazing pair of shoes. A lot of my friends have heard me say that I can not wait to get out of high school, and follow my plan of moving to New York City and attending college there. Well, this is one of the reasons why. I will finally get to dress the way I've always wanted to. You may now be thinking, 'thats a stupid reason you want to get out of high school..' But, dressing the way I want is very important to me, and I've never been able to fully dress the way I want to. People in high school can be very judgmental. And even though people tell me they like how I dress, I've definitely gotten made fun of by some people. So, getting to my point.... If I were to walk in to school with those sick Alexander Wang Fabiana heels with the cape on the back, I would get looked at like I was the freak of the week. Actually, I would get made fun of for wearing any type of heel. I wear those booties by H&M that have a small heel on them, and I get made fun of by some people for wearing heels to school (a lot of the people in my school wear sweatpants every single day. theres nothing wrong with that, but it's just not me). Wow, this is getting really long, so I am going to cut myself off! Haha. So, anyway, I love these shoes! :)

I'm so sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been pretty under the weather, but I'm starting to feel better! With being home from school for four days, I have had time to search for some major fashion inspiration! I found these editorials from Vogue China, who always has the best editorials! Love the black and white! So, hopefully I will start posting more!

Outfit Inspiration: plaid

Rumi Neely of fashiontoast.com

I told you guys Rumi Neely can make anything look amazing. I payed her blog my daily visit and came across a post which included this dress. I was never turned on by plaid...until now. That Etoile Isabel Marant dress is perfect for fall. Plaid is another huge trend for fall/winter 2011! I think you have to be very confident and comfterable in your own skin to wear such a print. But, I really want to try it! It is wayyyy passed my bedtime so I'm going to bed! Night my little angels!

What I Wore

sweater: H&M, leather pants: H&M, shoes: Zappos

So, I know I said that I wasn't going to be posting outfits for a while, but I guess I was wrong. Today was retro day at our school, and I decided to look like I came out of the movie Grease. So, I wore a black off the shoulder shirt, leather pants, and my boots...and had to add the big hair and red lips also! But, this morning it was pretty raw and cold out, so I decided to throw a big sweater over it, and it wound up making a very cute outfit. So, I decided to do an outfit post on it! Since the weather is very gloomy today, the lighting sucks. But, you guys will get the idea. I know other bloggers have these photographer boyfriends who take pictures of them, but I don't have one of those! *any takers? ;)* So, right now my MacBook will have to be the photographer! Anyway, more about the outfit! I had never been able to wear these leather pants, but I feel like I'm going to start wearing them more often. I bought this sweater last year, which is actually a cardigan.. But, I thought it looked better at a closed sweater. I thought it looked cooler. This kept me very warm today though! Fall is definitely starting to show more of itself!...and I kind of like it!

Style Crush: Rumi Neely

Sorry for the lack of posts. I've been getting slammed with school work, its ridiculous. I'm not going to be posting any outfit looks this week because it's spirit week at my school, which basically means I'm going to be dressing like an idiot all week. So, hopefully next week I'll start doing outfit posts again! Anyway, back to this post. Rumi Neely is a major fashion inspiration to me. She has a way of taking the simplest pieces, and turning them into something sick. I've been following her blog fashiontoast.com for about a year and a half now. I probably look at it every single day. She just makes everything look amazing. Rumi Neely is known for mixing designer and vintage pieces to create amazing looks. If anybody is into fashion, you should definitely already know who this girl is. But, if you don't, check her blog out! It's way past my bed time, and I have an early day tomorrow. Night everyone!

Whats Inspiring Me Lately...

high slit skirts, metallics, capes, neon, and Dolce&Gabbana stars/lace

So, I had a little scare today with my favorite Alexander Wang sweater. I totally thought someone stole it in my gym class...and I went into panic mode. So, I called Maddie (my best friend, LOVE YOU!) because I knew she would still probably be at the school working on spirit week for my school. I told her that I couldn't find my sweater and to look in the gym for it. Ten agonizing minutes later, Maddie called me with the best news ever! SHE FOUND MY ALEXANDER WANG SWEATER! So freaking relieved. Some other fun news! This weekend I'm going to visit my brother Vince at University of Maryland. I am so excited!!!! He's basically my best friend and I've been dying without him. I also get to see his amazing girlfriend Keighley, who I love! She's also basically my best friend! :) Can't wait to see you guys! So, I might be gone for the weekend, but I'll try my best to keep the posts coming!

Remembering My Mommy

This is more of a personal post dedicated to my beautiful mother, Jean Clementi.

Dear mommy, I can not believe you have been gone for two years. It seems like it was just yesterday you were holding me in your arms, telling me everything was going to be alright. Every single day something happens that I wish I could tell you about. I still talk to you all of the time though. Even though you are not physically here to listen, I know that you are still listening. Whenever I'm troubled or sad, I know I can always look up to you. I miss our nightly back scratches, going to New York City with you every chance we got, all of the vacations we went on...everything. I miss going shopping with you and being your personal stylist (even though you looked like a hot mama no matter what!) I miss seeing your face every morning when you came into my room to wake me up. I am so grateful that I am able to say that you were my mother. I could not have asked for a better woman to raise me and make me the person I am today. You touched everybody who has met you in every way. If someone was in need of help, you were there to help them. You were the kindest, most beautiful person inside and out that I've ever known. With everything you went through, you never gave up hope and always remained so strong. Many people love you and miss you dearly. I hope when I grow up, I am exactly like you. You left this world way too soon, but I know you are in a place of peace. Somewhere amazing where there is absolutely no pain. Somewhere where you are free of all of your troubles. I know that one day we will be together again. I love you so incredibly much and miss you every single second of the day.

Love, Your Babygirl

outfit inspiration: velvet

I am OBSESSED with basically all of the trends for this fall! One of my favorites though, is the velvet trend. All of these pictures display velvet in dark colors... but jewel-toned colored velvet is also huge. I'm on a hunt to find a blue velvet blazer. All of these girls wear velvet awesomely! Always gotta love Fashiontoast's Rumi Neely. Girl has some sick style. I would categorize her as one of my fashion icons. Some other ways to incorporate velvet into your wardrobe is by wearing velvet shoes, a velvet handbag, etc. This season is filled with the sickest fashion trends!

outfit inspiration: neck candy

I am loving this trend for fall. Between the sick neck collars and the amazing statement necklaces...you can really see how a great piece of jewelry can spice up an outfit! I've been trying to find an awesome statement necklace that I can afford, but I can't seem to find one I'm in love with. Atleast these photos give me some inspiration! Hopefully it can give you guys some inspiration too! Hopefully I can keep up with my posts...but it might be hard since I'm starting to get an insane amount of school work. Gotta love junior year of high school! Alright, well it's getting really late, so hopefully I can do an outfit post tomorrow! Off to dreamland.....

A/W 2011 Trend: All Things Leather

From up to down: Prabal Gurung, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Michael Kors, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Chloe, The Row

So, I am in L.O.V.E. with this trend for Fall. I think a leather piece can make any outfit automatically chic. There are so many ways to wear leather this fall. A leather shirt, skirt, shorts, jacket, shoes, bag...the possibilities are endless! I am currently on the hunt for a pleated leather skirt and a leather dress right now! Incase you're not ready for full on leather, go with a piece that has leather detailing. You're still incorporating the trend, but just in you're own special way! Leather can be both sweet and sexy. You can pair a leather skirt with a lady-like blouse to sweeten it up. Or, take a cue from Taylor Tomasi-Hill, and wear a sexy leather dress. I love it both ways! When the weather turns cold, wear a pair of leather pants with a warm, chunky sweater. If you still want to wear shorts, pair leather shorts with some black tights under it. Just two things... Make sure the leather is fitted. You dont want it too tight, as it can look very unflattering. Secondly, don't wear leather on leather. It is not a cute look. Hope you have fun with these leather looks! :)
