Starting his duties as creative director at the fashion powerhouse that is Balenciaga in 1997, Nicolas Ghesquiere is saying good-bye after 15 memorable years. Nicolas turned Balenciaga into the demanding fashion house that it is today. He changed it for the better by having a certain respect for Cristobal Balenciaga's original designs. With the incredibly sad news, I have gone back in time to gather up some of my favorites over the past 15 years. And there you have it... 15 incredible years of Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga. It is amazing how his skills have developed throughout the years. Even though I am deeply saddened by his decision to leave, I am curious to see what Alexander Wang (the new creative director) will do with Balenciaga. Only time will tell...
