Everyone Needs a Little Vintage in Their Life

I'm so happy I could cry. Seriously. Yesterday, I paid my Mimi (grandmother) a visit since I haven't seen her in a while. I love going over her house. It's always filled with amazing home cooked food, laughter and vintage fashion. As she greeted me with fresh squeezed orange juice (AMAZE)..she told me she had some boots she wanted to give me. So we went up to her closet and she took out a pair of amazing whiskey colored Frye boots from 1975! They have gorgeous stitching going up the entire boot. I can't wait to wear these!
We then went through all of her amazing clothes she used to wear from the 70's through the 90's. She had 3 gorgeous beaded dresses left (she gave the rest away), some harem pants, and some oversized blazers. Of course I was drawn to the blazers. Before I knew it, she was telling me to take them because she never wore them anymore. After getting mad at her for not wearing these beautiful blazers anymore, I finally gave in and took them. They're Ralph Lauren (left) and Lands End (right).
Next, she pulled out her handbag collection. Every time my Popsi (grandfather) would go away for work, he would always bring her back a beautiful evening bag. She has about 20 of them. I was immediately taken back by the beautiful beaded handbag shown above. The beading in it is so exquisite and intricate. It was hand made in India.
My Mimi is truly a beautiful, stylish and inspiring woman, whom I truly look up to as a role model. She is incredibly strong and one

For Those Cold City Nights...

I've been wearing the same winter coat for about 3 years now, so I thought it would be time for me to say goodbye...for now. While on the hunt, I stumbled upon these two at, believe it or not..Forever 21. I've been super impressed with them lately. Along with my new coats, I also purchased a pair of $9.80 high waisted jeans (I LOVE DEALS), a cream cropped sweater, and a new pair of super cute buckled ankle boots. More about the coats! I fell in mad love with both of them and couldn't decide between them, so I ended up taking both of these puppies home with me. The shearling jacket is so incredibly warm. It's like one big fur ball inside. Hopefully, both of these coats will make the NYC winter weather a little more bearable!

She no saint, c'ept Saint Laurent

Say hello to my new babies! I've needed a new wallet for a while, since my $10.00 wallet from Target broke about 3 months ago. Since then, I've been using a little Pucci card holder that my aunt got me around 5 years ago. Not a very sufficient wallet as you might have guessed, especially since I almost lost it New Years Eve. I blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol baby, 5 degree weather and the tears that were streaming down my face from the fact I couldn't feel my body. ANYWAY.  When my dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I was about to give him the good old, "I don't really need anything, so just money," when I stumbled upon the Yves Saint Laurent beauty. I wanted a wallet that was going to last me a very long time, and I immediately fell in deep love with this wallet. Many people (my father and brother...typical) did not understand my deep love and excitement for this wallet, because of it's simplicity. But, that is what makes me love it so much. I'm going to be able to wear it for forever. It will never go out of style. It is a beautiful, timeless piece that was well worth the investment.

Now onto those babe-like Ray Bans. I've also needed new sunglasses for about the last year. I normally would stray away from expensive sunglasses considering I know my clumsy self would probably break them in a matter of two days. However, I decided that this would be a test for myself to see if I could be an adult for five minutes and handle a pair of expensive sunglasses. I've been doing pretty well so far! No scratches or finger prints. I also put them back in their case every time after using them. We'll see how long this lasts.
